Week #3 - Job, New Teammate, No Sleep

Job

So I decided to accept a job.  I work at a place called studio-optar, but only work about 15 hours a week.  It is an advertisment firm and I spend most my days putting together signs.  My boss doesnt speak english at all, but luckily I have a co-worker that does so he translates.  I didnt think I wanted a job while I was here but decided to when I found out that minimum wage was 8 euros an hour which converts to over $12 / hour!

Whiteboy

Ryan Robbins, a.k.a Whiteboy showed up on tuesday.  He is a LB from Howard Payne.  We spend the whole week just chillin and I attempted to show him around a little.  It's awesome having another american here but i can say that we get no sleep now!  Wednesday night is a big night to go to the Manski.  So we headed out to Onnela, with a large group of football guys and several random friends.  We were out till 4 or 5 a.m., which i absolutely regret now, cuz i had my second day of work on thurday morning.  I tried to lay down around 5:30 but couldnt fall asleep till about 6:30, then my alarm went off at 7.   I grabbed my box of Honey Nut Cherrios, my backpack, and jumped on my bike.  Took me only 20 minutes to get to works so i sat there for a while till someone got there!

I worked till 12:30 then headed straight to the City Center.  Our team was responsible for putting up tents, and stages for the upcoming music festival here in Kouvola.  We worked all afternoon, finally Biki (our team GM) sent me home around 7 p.m. since we had practice at 8.  So I showed up to practice after a 12 hour day and running on no sleep!

Amarillo Cafe and No Sleep

Friday was spend just bummin around with Whiteboy and eating lot's of Arnold's donuts.  Friday night a big group of us decided to head to Amarillo for the night (I uploaded several pics from this night).  Normally, I wouldnt have gone out since it's within 48 hours of our game but everyone was going so I decided to go also.  Met several people while we were there and may have my first coffee date this week with a girl named Jenni.  She doesnt look like a finnish girl at all.  Tall, Dark Hair and Tan which is opposite of the short, blond hair and lighter skin locals.  She is studying to be a teacher, has the summer off and doesnt do anything all day so we decided to meet one day this week for coffee, which will be a coke for me!  haha, Mom your probably flippin out right now!

We left Amarillo about 4 a.m. and it still gets me that the sun is out.  It looks like it would be like 9 a.m.  I laid down around 5 and heard a knock on my window about 5:45.  It was Whiteboy and he wanted to go to Huvi Retki to get some pancakes.  We found out they serve pancakes from 6:30 - 9 a.m on fridays, sat, and sundays.  So i jumped on my bike and we headed for breakfast.  I went to bed around 7:30 a.m. and woke up around 11 for walk-through.  Most of the team looked like crap today cuz of the late night before....I spent the rest of the day attempting to catch up on some rest!

Tomorrow we play in Helsinki
